I’m studying for my Chemistry class and don’t understand how to answer this. Can you help me study?
if you have any questions please chat me I need an AHalf Life Virtual Lab 8.03 & 8.04 Go to the following website after you have downloaded the lab report: http://glencoe.mheducation.com/sites/0078778115/student_view0/unit5/chap ter14/virtual_lab.html Please submit to the dropbox 8.04 I. II. III. Purpose: To investigate the meaning of radioactive half0life as you see a simulation of the radioactive decay of isotopes of four hypothetical elements. To collect radioactive decay rate data over a period of 20,000 years. To determine, compare and contrast half-lives of the 4 radioactive elements. Procedure: 1. Click the Video button and watch the video to review about atoms. 2. Select Element at from the pull-down menu. At first you will see a total of 100 radioactive atoms on the screen. 3. Click the Years passed button to advance the time 1000 years. 4. Click the Count the Remaining Radioactive Atoms button to see how many radioactive atoms remain. 5. Click the Remove the Atoms No Longer Radioactive button to remove the daughter elements 6. Record the number of remaining radioactive element in the data table. 7. Continue to advance the time by 1000 year intervals until Half of the original atoms remain.(You may be a little below 50 atoms) 8. Repeat these steps for the 3 remaining elements. Record results in data chart. Analysis Questions 1. According to your data, what are the approximate half-lives of the 4 elements? A___________ B____________ C__________D___________ 2. Which of the 4 substances you investigated would be the most harmful to living organisms? 3. What part of an original isotopes’ number of atoms remains after 2 half-lives? 4. How much of a 100.0g sample of Au-198 is left after 8.10 days if its half-life is 2.70 days? ...
