The documentary film We Still Live Here recounts the amazing story of the revitalization of the Wampanoag language and explains how that revitalization has played a crucial role in preserving Wampanoag cultural identity for future generations. For this essay, I would like you to consider the following questions: What role does language revitalization play in the preservation of a culture? Do you think language revitalization projects are worthwhile? Why or why not?
