Gantt Chart Course-Long Project
This is where the rubber meets the road. Take the elements you have created in past weeks and incorporate them into a Gantt Chart. This is the major planning chart you will use for your project. Take a look in the textbook and this week's other readings for further insight on how to create this important element. For this assignment, you may use online programs such as smartsheet.com (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.. You may also use MS Project for this one through your student account if you desire.
Include the following elements in your Gantt Chart:

The Task ID and Name must appear as text elements (meaning not in the bar portion of the chart). If you wish to include the other elements as text, you may do so, but they are not required. Also, if including the resource will help you organize the course-long project, feel free to add that column as well.
Submissions will be judged on the following:
Ability to follow directions
Including required elements
Measurable and timely deliverables
Revisions based upon feedback
Presentation (color-coded tasks, etc.)
Remember, this is a living document, so make it as useful as possible for your project. The preference is that you use Smartsheet, but you can create your chart using Excel, Google Sheets or Smartsheet.com. Submit an Excel or PDF file. The project plan is initiated to provide the groom and the bride with a legal wedding with the most memorable experience, and also make all the people available happy given a budget of $15,000, a timeline of six months, and 200 invited guests.
This project deliverables will include; setting the wedding date, booking the venue, choosing the wedding theme and décor, finding the wedding priest, ceremony programs, party favors, the guest list, rented equipment, the food and drinks, the wedding cake, wedding flowers, the wedding music, the photographer, wedding invitations, wedding day schedule, wedding day transportation, marriage contract, officiating of the marriage, honeymoon planning, the rings, wedding gown, the bride’s makeup and hair, the bridegroom’s attire and look, the reception site fully arranged and decorated, The pre-wedding plan which includes the; bridal showers, the bachelor and bachelorette parties, the rehearsal dinner, and the activities of the wedding day (Gray, 2014).
The team taking care of the project will work towards achieving each and every deliverable and the activities that are required. The team will provide a breakdown of the budget allocations; the reservations, different goods and services required for the wedding, different available booking choices, and the cake, food, and drinks arrangements (Siv, 2014). The team will also provide a time schedule of tasks that need to be carried out before, during, and after the wedding. All the deliverables should also be aligned with the budget and the expectations of the project customers who are the; bride and bridegroom. In addition, a contingency plan should be developed in order to cater for any problems that might arise during the project. The total time that we are given to run the project is six months, therefore, each and every activity will be allocated the time it is required in the work breakdown structure. It is also necessary to find out about different costs on time and classify them based on whether they are fixed or they can change in order to be well prepared (Chan, 2014).
The milestone chart includes the tentative schedule which is to be approved by both the groom and the bride. Upon approval, then the different required resources for the wedding will be assigned to the activities. The schedule is as follows; within the first two months, we shall do the following; set the wedding date, pick a venue and make reservations of the time and date, pick a reception venue and reserve, make a guest list, make a choice on the wedding décor and the theme, pick a good florist, photographer, music and book them, thank you notes, and reviewing the invitations. The second two months will entail; working with the caterers on the menu, the florist on the flowers, sending out invitation letters, shopping for wedding attires, ordering party favors and decors, reserving wedding transportation, and reserving honeymoon spot. The last two months will involve getting the wedding attire, scheduling makeup and hair appointments, finalizing the menu and cake, finalizing guest list, and confirming all reservations made.
