Pick a random population to work with (for example: teenage girls in rural area, aging population in inner city). The more detailed the population the easier this exercise will be- simply picking a general population will make the next step harder.
Pick 2 skills presented in the Ortega reading or NASW standards.
For each skill- imagine and explain a practical , exercise or service that you will use with that population to show that you are applying that skill. In other words, though we can talk a lot about what we should do- what does it actually look like. So use your imagination, and without any monetary restrictions, think of a practical way to show the skill you selected. You should have two exercises one for each skill.
Another way to think of this is to imagine a supervisor asking you to show how you are using these skills- you cannot simply say that you are - you will need to show what steps/exercises/services/events you are doing that provides evidence that you take these skills seriously and are applying them.
