Week 8 - Assignment: Perform an In-Depth Review of Research in a Topic Area

In this Signature Assignment, we would like you to expand upon one of your earlier research investigations for the course.

Read the materials for this week, and review once again the overall topics of each week’s materials of this course, as well as the articles listed in the resources sections for all the “part b” portions of the weekly assignments for the course. Review your assignments you’ve already completed. We would like you to now choose one of the weekly topics to do some more expansive investigation into the current research in that area, or in a closely related topic of your choosing. You may expand on one of the earlier works you’ve completed, or you may choose an entirely new topic area from this course, including this week’s focus on enterprise architectures and global systems.

Search the NCU library site for at least ten total recent (less than four years old) academic journal articles on the topic, and then write an essay on this topic of ten to fifteen pages in length, providing your personal assessment of the current status of research in the field. You should also take this opportunity to identify a possible personal research opportunity in the field (new or currently incomplete areas of inquiry) which you may want to investigate in more depth in the future as a possible dissertation topic. If at all possible with the sources you find, try to focus on a relatively narrow portion of the topic for your investigation, and be careful to clearly identify the ongoing research opportunity and its potential impact in the field.

Length: 10-12 pages not including title page and references

Your analysis should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
