Description:
Preparing for interviews and job related negotiations requires some serious rhetorical skills. How can you build your ethos in order to not only get hired, but also negotiate the salary, benefits or other bonuses you deserve? In the following activity, we will explore interviews and negotiations.
----
Step 1: Review the WSU* and MIT resources and write down at least 5-6 points that stood out to you (must include at least 1 point from each site). These points might be information you did not previously know, information you don’t agree with, information that raises questions for you, or information that relates to a particular experience you have had.
Step 2: Locate a resource (text, audio or video) that provides tips for job interviews or negotiations specific to your situation (professional field, level of professional experience, age, disability, gender, nationality, nonnative speaker of English, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc.). Evaluate the credibility of source and explain how it enriches, challenges or reiterates information from the resources reviewed in Step 1.
