The Task
In this task you are required to produce a report of 1,250-1,500 which advises Peter, Simon and Will about their proposed business.
The report
As an Advisor you will be giving your opinion to the three friends suggesting the most appropriate legal structure that they should use.
The report must

1. Introduction
Give an overview of what will be discussed in the report.
2. Franchise v Non–Franchise
You should show a clear understanding of the concepts of:
Franchise business v Non-Franchise business set-up. (K)
Your answer should be clearly rooted in issues related to a health club/gym/fitness centre (P)
The advantages and disadvantages of franchises v non-franchise business setup should be explain to Peter, Simon and Will. (A)
2. Legal Structure
A clear understanding of the following concepts should be shown:
Partnership v private limited companies.
A discussion on the advantages and disadvantages for Peter, Simon and Will of partnership and private limited company should be discussed. (A)
4. Market segmentation
You could show a clear understanding of market segmentation. (K)
You should explain the benefits of market segmentation and how these might influence at least two elements of the marketing mix for the proposed health club business. (A)
5. Conclusion
You should be able to make a supported recommendation :
As to which legal structure is best for the proposed business.
e.g. ‘I think that the most appropriate method for business set-up is buying a franchise because …………….’, or ‘The best legal structure for the business is ……………. because …………….’ (E).

You might question the need for more information that was not given in the case study.
For example, how will the three friends finance the business, will they employ managers for the health club, or do they intend to be hands-on.
In making your recommendation you might briefly explain why some legal structures are not appropriate.

Preparation
Before you write anything, make sure you:

Think about what should be included in your report.
Prepare a plan.
Write your report.
Read your report and check that it is correct before you upload it to Turnitin.

Used your assignment brief to check you have included everything that is required.
Re read your report.
Used a range of academic sources including textbooks in the LRC or using Open Athens? Websites

Work can be submitted to Turnitin more than once.
However a 24 hour window must be given.
If the same work is submitted before that time frame it will show as 100% plagiarised.
Do not wait until the last minute to submit your coursework.
