Leadership
is an art that motivates the group of people to work hard for achieving a goal.
Leadership in a business setting means that worker and colleagues work with the
strategy to acquired the company needs. On ideas, effective leadership is
based, but to apply these ideas first discuss the idea with the other members
and act like a leader. Leadership is linked
with the performance in business according to any definition of a leader. As
this is not only related to the making profit for the company. As many viewed
this effective leadership as one, who increases the bottom line of the company.
In leadership, if an individual does not fulfill the expectation that is set by
the high authority or stakeholders, then the higher authority has the right to
terminate that leader. Leaders are those who have traits that are beyond the
duties of management. Communicating, inspiring as well as supervising is also
involved in the leadership (F. C., 2011).
Someone
is born to be a leader, but some are becoming a leader because of their hard
work. If we see the history, it observes that history is full of those people
who have no experience of leadership, but they have good in their leadership
quality and work excellent at the time of pressure and at the time of crisis
situation. The agreement of the leader is that makes a vision and achieves that
vision work hard. In achieving the end result, the leader does this by
inspiring the other member or co-workers and setting the direction that helps
in success. Delegation is important in leadership (McGurk, 2010).
My personal Observation for a of Leadership
in an organization
Here
I discuss the personal experience of my life. I am working in an organization.
The style of the manager in tackling the issue is really amazing. The person is
a good leader because of his qualities that impressed the other workers of the
company. Even the boss of the company also impressed by him. The leader has all
the qualities that should be present in an effective leader. He has enough
confidence to talk with the higher authority and explain to them the whole
situation of the company. And he is enough condiment to ensure that the other
worker follows his order. The other quality is that he is very honest toward
his business. He inspires the people who work with them. This is the most
difficult job that is done by him in a good manner. He is committed and
passionate. The communication of the leader is very good. I observe all this
quality in my leader when I work with him in an organization. He is a very good
leader in all respective qualities (D. O., 2016).
During
his leadership, no conflicts are created among the other company employees. The
communication among the worker is very good. He is very polite, but when it
comes to the company goal, he didn’t compromise with the vision of the company.
These are the attributes or traits that are present in the leader. I perceive
this person leadership behavior and traits during when I work him with the same
project, and he is my leader. He discusses every idea of the project with all
group members. To motivate the members toward the work he always appreciates
their work. And always take the decision according to the mutual decision of
the members (Algahtani, 2014).
A
leader always relies on the power that is used to influence others and get
things done. The convincing power of the leader is very good, so he easily
influenced the people to work according to his requirement. To achieve, the
need of the company power and influence is the ability. Within the organization,
it is the potential to influence others for power holders the attain the
required goal. Through the process of political and potential influence power
is realized. The attitude, belief, and values are the factor which influences
the other within no time.
The
important thing which is very good about my leader is that his leadership style
is changed according to the requirement of the task. If the task is about
making any decision, then visionary style is used. If he observed that worker
is de-motivated, so they discuss with them the entire work and try to build an
interest in the work, so they give more effort to achieve the goal. The reason
behind the de-motivation is that when the set goals are not realistic or also
too hard to achieve from the members, that’s why the member de-motivated and
they lose interest in the task that is assigned to him (Vaccaro, Jansen, Van Den Bosch, & Volberda, 2012).
Feedback from a of Leader
As
the leader which I discussed is not so famous that I collect more information
through the interview. But when I work with him, I asked some question, and he
gives me the information regarding the question you see in appendix A. the
first question I asked is about the difficulties he faces during handling as a
project manager and how he tackle them. In today industry undefined goals ,
scope changes and the improper risk management are the problems that are faced
by him in his first leadership.
He
cannot define the company requirements to the worker as a result of this he
can’t meet the requirement of the company after when high authority asked about
this than he takes a step and firstly understands the goal of the company and
then tell this about the other members. After that, I never face this
difficulty again in my life. Now I properly understand the goal if I want any
changes after the discussion than I made some decision and organize the whole
work in small step to achieve the required goal.
The
other question which I asked is about the dependencies in the project
management. He said that there are four dependencies in project management first is finished to start, start to start,
finish to finish as well as start to finish. He said that when the first
project is finished before the successor could start the work. Just like that,
you have to buy the land before starting the building; this is not happening
that first, you build the building and then buy the land.
He
said before assigning the task to the members he gains every information about
the members such as their skills, their technicality and how capable they are.
After that, I delegate the duties according to their skills. If I assigned
without knowing about the skills of the members than the required goal is not
achieved that is set by the higher of authorities.
Yes,
he said that being proactive is a vital thing. This is very important when you
are going to lead a time you have to become proactive. The leader should
control their reaction in front of everyone. He has to tackle the situation
according to the different style. If you want to run a business, you have to
focus on proactive actions.
He
said when you set the goal that is want to achieve within time. Then plan the
whole work according to the time . organize a meeting with the other members
and tell them about the whole situation and the time constraints. So divide the
work according to the time requirement, so planning is the main factor. And the
other question that is related to the software base.
If
there is some innovation or agile venture than you have to plan this very
carefully. For this, you have to know about the customer's requirement and then
plan some innovation. He said the leader should have always taken an interest
in the improvement of the group work. This is a very important thing being a
leader.
Analysis of a Leadership
In
this section, I describe the reflection of what I have learned from the above
stages that a leader faces many difficulties while leading a group or lead any
project. In this course, we learned about leadership. The responsibility of a
leader is to describe how a leader achieves the set goal of the company. As in
the first stage, we only describe the quality of a leader which I observe in my
life. This is about an organization where I work for a year. In the
organization, my leader has many qualities that should be present in an
effective leader. He told me that these qualities are developed according to
the experience. But this is also true that someone is born to be a leader.
The
one who was behaving like a leader from their childhood he shows the spark in
their childhood. They only need to work some skills that they become an
effective leader. In this course, we also learned about how to complete the
goals within time. We have to plan the entire task according to time if
something unconditional thing happens, so there is also a backup plan there to
cover this up. The leader should always ready to tackle the problem within the
organization. A leader is the one who makes the profit for the company if the
goals are completely defined. If the goals are not defined than what happened,
that is also learned from this course.
If
the team members are de-motivated because of the unrealistic goals, then this
is the responsibility of the leader to motivate the other team members. There
are also many problems that occur during the project such as conflict will
occur among the other members. So, the leader will be responsible for this to
solve the conflict. The leader should always discuss the goal or plan for
achieving that goal with the members of the team. So they know about what they
are working for and how to meet the demand of the company.
Conclusion on Leadership
It
is concluded that leadership is a very important factor that is happened in an
organization. If you want to build effective leadership in an organization,
then the following qualities must be present in the leader. The leader should
be honest and integrity. The leader has the ability to delegate the duties. The
leader should be Commitment, positive attitude as well as creativity. As I
describe above the qualities of my ideal leader who is a role model for me. He
has all this quality which I mentioned. Also, take the interview and take some
suggestion for the organization. After that critically analyze his whole
experience. He is the leader of the project manager. So, this is true that
without the effective leadership a company can't achieve the set goal of the
organization. Leadership is not only belonged to the increase in profit; there
is also a concept of some people that good leader is those who make more profit
for an organization that is not true. A good leader is who has the ability to
acquired the goals in a critical situation. And in this course, we learned so
much about leadership.
