Question Description
You will get a few extra days to complete our last week's discussion, as it is composed of two major parts:
Explaining
Proposing
First Part-
Please read pages 465-469 (section "Stress and Health" until section "Early Experience of Stress") of your textbook and in 150-200 words explain the effect of stress on the immune system.
For maximum points, please be sure to discuss the following in narrative form:
Nervous system's role
Specify brain parts
Neurotransmitters
Endocrine system's role
Specify glands
Hormones
Second Part-
Based on your understanding of how stress affects the immune system, you are to make a proposal to help prevent or reduce stress. In other words, think of a life hack to reduce stress and illness. Your proposal should be an in-depth exploration of your topic and should go well beyond the class material. It MUST have at least 2 peer-reviewed scholarly journals and any websites or textbooks you choose, and you should present the most recent state of knowledge in this area. Please make use of the databases available in our ECC Library (Links to an external site.).
You are asked to frame your project so that it addresses an issue that is relevant to the well-being of the greater community. Although you can propose therapy or the digestion of multicolored rose petals in our diet (fictitious for illustrative purposes) to reduce stress, you MUST make use of the biopsychological perspective. In other words, you must provide a biological explanation of how therapy or multicolored rose petals affects our nervous system.
