At United Services Automobile Association (USAA) company, which was formed in 1922 by 25 United States Army officers that met in Texas and decided to ensure each other's vehicles. The organization was initially named United States Army Automobile Association (USAAA), but two years later the name was changed to United Services Automobile Association in 1924.
Today most of their businesses are conducted over the internet or by using telephones by their employees instead of agents. The two main objectives are to provide a summary to the senior leadership of the company so that they can improve the corporate work environment. So, the key recommendations will be about the organization constant change so that when changes come down, all employees will know why senior leadership is doing what they do when it comes through directives and SOPS are often delayed. Also, that when new training classes are implemented and not rushed through all the participants want to be confused and be left asking too many questions after the training has been finished.
The company will need to improve how training is conducted regarding content, delivery and implementation monitoring along with improving the organizational communications and dissemination of information within the company to all that are involved. Once those two things are done, revisit how the organization manages diversity and establish processes that support greater productivity. Because according to research done by (Saxena, 2014), diversity may be a problem, but it can enhance productivity if properly managed. In order for these to take effect, it should be supported by the senior leadership of the organization. The organization should always value the skills, abilities, and aspirations of each of their employees no matter how big are small that they may be within the organization.
Assignment 2 Executive Summary
Emotional Intelligence has a vital role to play in the success of a workplace because of the benefits that are attached to it if the system implemented in useful manure. In the teams of USAA, the Emotional Intelligence has an even more important role because management understands that the decisions related to employees, teamwork design and role and responsibilities of the team members should be designed after clearly understanding emotions and thinking of the team members. In the coaching, the feedback plays a significant role, and it is essential that the feedback is provided to the employees. The feedback it contains praise, and it is related to the goal, and two-way feedback, and it is also important that the feedback is at the same time positive feedback and realistic feedback consisting of the facts and figures, and it should be accurate.
Emotional intelligence is playing a pivotal role in building the social skills and enhancing the effectiveness of the decision making because the understanding of emotions of the employees will be helpful in understanding how the performance of the employees can be improved. United Services Automobile Association (USAA) takes pride in its teamwork, and it always tries to develop a culture where cooperation and collaborations are key team characteristics. In USAA, the expectancy theory will be used for the company in order to motivate the employees where the employees will be rewarded if they perform well. They will be motivated to perform well, and if they are not able to perform well, they will be given a written warning or can receive a censure or reprimand.
Assignment 3 Executive Summary
The paper aims to investigate the organizational culture and the role of politics, power-play, and leadership behavioral complexity at USAA. The overall organization of USAA is found supportive to the employees because of its flexible nature, challenging tasks, and full guideline from the leaders/managers/supervisors, however, when it comes to promotions, the culture does not show transparency. The majority of executives are very old, and they are taking advantage of their long companionship with the organization in the form of using their power and politics to promote their favorites.
However, all five sources of power can be utilized by the organization, specifically by our Task Force Committee in order to implement and improve the overall practices and procedures of the organization. Task Force Committee possess expert power that can be utilized to take the help of CEO's legitimate power to implement performance appraisal system, training, and development program and other major decisions free of any interference from the executives and managers of other departments. Moreover, the leaders at USAA needs to understand the positive aspects of power and politics in order to improve the overall culture and performance of the organization and to accomplish employee's satisfaction and job commitment.
