E-Waste Challenges

ENHANCING A PRESENTATION WITH FORMATS AND MEDIA

Project Goal

M Project Name

Project Goal

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
You have been working on a class assignment to research the issues of global e-waste and will then share your findings with your classmates. To prepare for your oral presentation, you have created some slides to emphasize the key points in the information that you gathered. To enhance the slides and make them more appealing and effective, you will add some additional photos, a video, and some special effects—including animations and transitions.

GETTING STARTED
· Download the following file from the SAM website:

· SC_PPT2013_CS_C1-3_P1a_FirstLastName_1.pptx

· Open the file you just downloaded and save it with the name:

· SC_PPT2013_CS_C1-3_P1a_FirstLastName_2.pptx

· Hint: If you do not see the .pptx file extension in the Save file dialog box, do not type it. PowerPoint will add the file extension for you automatically.

· To complete this Project, you will also need to download and save the following support files from the SAM website:

· support_SC_P13_CS_C1-3_P1a_devices.jpg

· support_SC_P13_CS_C1-3_P1a_waste_basket.jpg

· support_SC_P13_CS_C1-3_P1a_throw_away.mp4

· Hint: Opening an image may alter its file size. If you open an image support file, delete the file and download a new copy from the SAM website.

· With the file SC_PPT2013_CS_C1-3_P1a_FirstLastName_2.pptx still open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1. If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy from the SAM website.

PROJECT STEPS
Apply the Newsprint texture background to all slides in the presentation.

On Slide 1 (“E-Waste Challenges”), left-align the title text. Next, change the font color of the subtitle text to Lime, Accent 1, Darker 25% (5th column, 5th row in the Theme Colors palette), change the font size to 40 pt., and add the font attribute Text Shadow.

On Slide 2 (“Increased Use of Electronic Devices”), use the content placeholder to insert the picture support_SC_P13_CS_C1-3_P1a_devices.jpg, available for download from the SAM website. Resize the picture so that it is 3.5” high, and then reposition the picture so it is centered horizontally under the title.

On Slide 2, apply the Simple Frame, Black picture style to the picture.

On Slide 3 (“Devices Become Obsolete or Unwanted”), change the slide layout to Title and Content. In the title placeholder, apply bold and italic to the word “Unwanted”.

On Slide 3, use the content placeholder to insert the video support_SC_P13_CS_C1-3_P1a_throw_away.mp4, available for download from the SAM website. Use the default On Click setting to start the playback.

On Slide 3, apply the transition Vortex to that slide only.

On Slide 4 (“The Impact of Improper Disposal”), change the color of the picture on the right to Grayscale.

On Slide 4, insert the shape Multiply (in the Equation Shapes area in the Shapes menu). When complete, the shape should be 4” high and 4” wide. Position the shape so it is centered over the two pictures.

On Slide 4, apply the shape style Intense Effect – Lime, Accent 1 (2nd column, 6th row in the Shape Styles gallery) to the Multiply shape just inserted. With the shape still selected, enter the text Hazardous. Then select the shape text and apply the font Arial Rounded MT Bold.

On Slide 4, apply the Entrance animation Appear to the Multiply shape. Use the default start On Click. Then change the order of animations so that the Multiply shape animation appears first, before the bulleted list animation.

With Slide 4 still displaying, insert a new Slide 5 using the Title and Content layout. In the title placeholder, enter Reduce Waste. In the content placeholder, type the multi-level bulleted list shown below:

· Reuse

· Update or donate

· Sell

· Refurbish

· Recover or repair

· Trade in

· Recycle

On the new Slide 5 (“Reduce Waste”), select the bulleted list and apply the Entrance animation Appear, using default start On Click.

On Slide 5, insert the picture file support_SC_P13_CS_C1-3_P1a_waste_basket.jpg, available for download from the SAM website. Resize the picture proportionally so that it is 3.5” high, and then reposition the picture in the area on the right, aligning the top of the picture with the top of the first bulleted item. Next, apply the Simple Frame, Black picture style.

On Slide 5, enter the following speaker note:

E-waste is the largest source of lead in municipal solid waste.

Move Slide 7 (“Buy Green Devices”) so that it becomes Slide 6. Add a border to the Energy Star picture using the border color Black, Text 1 (2nd column, 1st row in the Theme Colors palette) and the border weight 6 pt. Then move the content placeholder with the bulleted list so that the top of the first bulleted item aligns with the top of the picture.

On the new Slide 7 (no title), delete the title placeholder. Insert a WordArt image using the WordArt style Fill – Lime, Accent 1, Shadow (2nd column, 1st row). In the WordArt text box, enter Recycle Responsibly. Then reposition the WordArt text box so it is centered horizontally at the top of the slide, above the bulleted list and picture.

On Slide 8 (“E-Waste Challenges”), in the subtitle placeholder, enter Apply the Solutions. Go to Slide 1 and use the Format Painter to copy the formats for the subtitle text, and then use the Format Painter to apply those formats to the subtitle on Slide 8.

Insert a footer with the text E-Waste Challenges and the slide number.

a. In the Header & Footer dialog box, use the Don't show on title slide check box to apply the footer to all of the slides except the title slide.

(Note: The footer will not appear on the last slide of the presentation because it uses a title slide layout.)

Check the Spelling in the presentation to identify and correct any spelling errors. (Hint: You should find and correct at least 1 spelling error.)

Update the document properties by entering the keywords e-waste challenges in the Tags box.

In Slide Sorter view, your presentation should look like the Final Figure on the following page. Save your changes, close the presentation, and exit PowerPoint. Follow the directions on the SAM website to submit your completed project.

For three decades, the firm had reinvented and revolutionized the circus. From its beginning in 1984, Cirque de Soleil had thrilled over 150 million spectators with a novel show concept that was as original as it was nontraditional: an astonishing theatrical blend of circus acts and street enter- tainment, wrapped up in spectacular costumes and fairy- land sets and staged to spellbinding music and magical lighting. Cirque du Soleil’s business triumphs mirrored its high- flying aerial stunts, and it became a case study for business school journal articles on carving out unique markets. But following a recent bleak outlook report from a consultant, a spate of poorly received shows over the last few years, and a decline in profits, executives at Cirque said they were now restructuring a - Body shop ice blue shampoo buy - Wilson sporting goods co v hickox - Edward freeman stakeholder theory pdf - 300 words APA - Transition to Graduate Study - Penn foster argument essay - Bbc dance mat typing 1 - HRM 652 EVALUATING RESULTS AND BENEFITS - Angola prison documentary netflix - Brandy and maks on jimmy kimmel - An frg provides activities and support that encourages - Assessment extension form curtin - Research Based Position Paper: Due Sunday - Oxidation state of organometallic compounds - Discussion needed by 3pm Friday - Chateau du soleil byron bay weddings - Go ahead waste time on the internet by kenneth goldsmith - Lockwood assa abloy 334b45 - Johnson and johnson diversity case study - The Research Project Process Final - The conscience of huckleberry finn jonathan bennett summary - Can you get a final written warning straight away - Work breakdown structure for coffee shop - Sro vic gov autopay - American history final exam - Discussion #3 - MBA 599 - ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - Ndis price guide assistive technology - Compare and contrast words - Coreldraw for screen printing - Root studios senior pictures - The war at home one family's fight against ptsd - Campaign Financing/ POL2076 Week 4 Project - Lyryx linear algebra solutions - Dementas v estate of tallas - Fp9 - Genie z45 25 joystick calibration - Kaggle Competition - Turning point charlotte nc - John scofield en route - How was martin luther king jr a good leader - A changing world thesis and outline - 12 angry men organizational behavior - Kissin kate barlow drawing - Discussion - List of polyprotic acids - Order 2189405: Social media use and its relationship with collaborative learning and students motivation IN ABUDHABI SCHOOLS, - Unit VII Mini Project - C6h8o6 i2
