Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Model

The objective of this assignment is for students to describe the socialization of the child; focusing on the interrelationship of family, school, and community. SLO#1

Think about your own life using Bronfenbenner’s Ecological Model and create your own ecological model. Your paper will be a high quality and deep reflection of your own childhood and the influences from each of the ecological systems: micro, meso, exo and macro.

In addition to reviewing the power points, you can find information about microsystems in the Textbook in Chapter 2- Agents of Socialization, and about Family in detail in Chapter 5. You can read about Macrosystems in Chapter 3.

Your paper should have 6 paragraphs:

Paragraph 1: Include an introductory paragraph that explains Bronfenbrenner’s main idea for his theory and the purpose of your paper. This should be at least 5 sentences long.

Paragraph 2: Microystem: What is the definition from the Content Power Point? Describe some elements of YOUR Microsystems (Family, Peers, School/Child Care, Community, Media). Consider the influences from each system in your childhood and HOW they have impacted you during adulthood.

Paragraph 3: Mesosystem: What is the definition from the Content Power Point? Describe some elements of YOUR Mesosystems. Consider the influences from each system in your childhood and HOW they have impacted you during adulthood.

Paragraph 4: Exosystem: What is the definition from the Content Power Point? Describe some elements of YOUR Exosystems. Consider the influences from each system in your childhood and HOW they have impacted you during adulthood.
