Create a database and enter the survey components in to the database. Clean the data with documentation on how the data was cleaned, re-coded, etc. Use frequencies, cross tabs, graphs and charts to support or reject the hypothesis. You can use excel to do the data entry and the cleaning. Your spreadsheet will be set up according to your survey so each one will be different. But generally, set up your answers in the columns and then enter your responses in your rows. You will need to use different analysis techniques, excel will do this but it is easier in SPSS. Either one is fine with me.
What I will be mostly looking at is that the data is entered in a sensible way, cleaned and charts/graphs are created more than frequencies which may require you to to take certain data and create other tables to analyze. In Excel, this takes a few extra steps where in SPSS it is easier. There are a fair amount of Youtube videos for SPSS and Excel than can walk you through how to analyze data in each program. I am looking for what you produce more than what program you use to do it. Always use AMA format when appropriate.
Please submit screen shots of how you've set up your data (ie variable view in SPSS) and charts as part of the Word document you will be submitting. This word document will contains your explanation of what you did to get your database ready (the data cleaning process, re-coding variables etc). If you did not have any cleaning or re-coding to do, which would be odd, state that in the submission.
