Before completing this assignment please read the module on Public Speaking – particularly noting Informative speaking and Professor Pearman’s notes on Central Idea and Purpose Statements.
Create/make up your own informative speech topic and write: topic, a specific purpose statement, a central idea/thesis, and list at least 2 potential visual aids that could effectively clarify the central idea/thesis statement while presenting the speech (be specific please, don’t just write “I’ll use a power point/prezi show”.)
NOTE: Students may select ANY topic/ his or her own "self-generated" topic -- he or she likes as long, as it remains informative.

Going Green in the World of Education
Thesis /Central Idea:
The green movement has transformed school buildings, how teachers teach, and the environment in which students learn.
Specific purpose statement:
By the end of my speech (OR "After hearing my presentation...", "Hopefully, through my presentation...", " With the information I am providing, I hope that the audience will be able to describe some ways in which schools are going green".
Main Points in Body of Speech:

II. Impacted how teachers teach
III. Transformed the environment in which students learn
List at least 2 SPECIFIC, potential Presentation/Visual Aids to be used (do not type "videos or pictures" - state EXACTLY the content of said videos. images, models etc:
