This will constitute your first reasonably focused writing. It is not expected to be perfect, but do your best to complete 1-2 pages of prose for submission and review by the class by Saturday, April 27, 2013. All elements thus far discussed should be applied to this first draft, if possible: characterization, plot, consistent point of view, and descriptive writing, with an emphasis on dialogue. Please compose the paper in Microsoft Word and adhere to proper MLA guidelines (proper spacing, header, indents, etc.; take pride in its aesthetics!). Ideally, this should be the opening passage of your short story. Some dialogue, however brief, should be incorporated into the first few pages.
Composed at least a full page of writing employing all previously discussed elements of fiction with an emphasis on dialogue.

HERE ARE SOME POINTS THAT YOU CAN USE TO ADD TO THE STORY
I'm wondering why the father would take the daughter to visit a competitor.
-Am I to assume that the first meeting between Gandom and Burak is evolving into a love affair? And before these two start falling for one another, how much do we need to know about their meeting? For example, is there talk that the two rival companies will merge?
-You allude to a "forbidden" love. This could be a fascinating cultural angle. But keep in mind who your reader will be. It's us! Having said that, then, you'll need to educate us a bit on some of the cultural dynamics and taboos that are still in existence between men and women in these different regions and practicing different religions.
-Now what will make this story very interesting is the complication of the love affair. Clearly, not everyone will be happy, right? In fact, I might even argue that the union between these two people might actually be deadly. But how might that manifest itself? For example, might one of the company's founders send out an assassin in an attempt to destroy their affair?
GANDOM
Exposition: Gandom is the daughter of a very wealthy and known businessman in Kurdistan, she has two older sisters but Gandom is the only one that works for her father’s company. Her family is semi-conservative and the father is very strict on his daughters. Burak is also a son of a businessman in Turkey who has taken over his father’s company recently. Gandom’s father and Burak are competitors.
Rising Action: On a business trip to Turkey Gandom’s father decided to take Gandom with her so that she will become more familiar with their company and who they are dealing with. A meeting is set with Burak’s Company obviously being the competitor of Gandom’s father’s company. Gandom’s father has decided to send Gandom as the representative of their company since she speaks a little Turkish and he wants her to learn more about the company. Gandom gets ready and is followed by her bodyguards to the meeting.
Climax: Gandom walks in the conference room, sits at one end of the table, facing Burak who is her father’s competitor, as soon as she looks up and notices him she starts getting nervous and the same starts happening to Burak. The meeting begins and she has no idea what is going on, Burak and Gandom are introduce to each other and that is when they exchange business cards with their personal numbers on there but also mention it is for business matters. Gandom who is being watched by the bodyguards tries to leave the room as fast as possible, she feels something happening but she doesn’t know what is going on and why she is feeling that way, she knows it’s all wrong but she has not control over it.
Falling Action: She is back at the hotel with her Father, she is asked about the meeting and she doesn’t have much to tell her father about except asking him questions about who this competitor is and why he is so young. Her father not knowing why she is so curious answers her questions and doesn’t even doubt for a second that his daughter has fallen for a forbidden love. Later that night Gandom receives a text from Burak who has asked her to join him for dinner, she does not know what tell him but she knows this will be her last chance to see him again before she leaves to Kurdistan again, so she agrees.
Burak and Gandom have fallen in love and they are secretly seeing each other through business meetings and overall travels that Gandom does with her sisters. Finally Burak wants to come and ask for her hand, and that is when all the trouble comes, even though they are both Muslims but practice differently, Burak is the competitor of her father’s company, he is not Kurdish these will be all the problems they will be facing but at the end Burak sacrifises everything he gives up the company and joins Gandom’s father, he changes to their religion views and becomes a son that Gandom’s father never had.
Plot and Story Goal
The plot of the story is how Gandom falls in love with someone that is not approved by her family and how these two young lovers end up together by one’s sacrifice.
The goal is to show the difference in culture especially the Middle Eastern cultures and to prove that when there is real love nothing can stop it.
