writing a Results section and a Discussion section for the Enzyme simulation. All requirments in attachment.2020/9/26 Results and Discussion sections Results and Discussion sec ons Submit Assignment Due Tuesday by 11am Points 25 File Types doc, docx, pdf, rtf, and txt Submitting a file upload Available after Sep 22 at 11am For this assignment, you will be writing a Results section and a Discussion section for the Enzyme simulation. Your paper must not include Introduction or Materials & Methods sections. Your score may be reduced if you include extra sections or material. If you're not sure what needs to be included in your paper, check in with your lab instructor for help. In your Results section, you will need to include the following tables: Table 1: Effect of pH on Sucrase Activity Table 2: Effect of Temperature on Sucrase Activity Table 3: Effect of Sucrose Concentration on Sucrase Activity Note: In the lab exercise, these are listed as Tables 4-6. However, these will most likely be the only tables in your paper. Since tables are numbered in the order they appear, these will be Tables 1-3 in your paper. You'll also need to include the following figures based on the data you collected: Figure 1: Effect of pH on Sucrase Activity Figure 2: Effect of Temperature on Sucrase Activity Figure 3: Effect of Sucrose Concentration on Sucrase Activity To generate your graphs, copy each data table into Excel or Google Sheets and draw the figure there rather than copying the graphs from the simulation, that way you have more control over how the graphs look. Remember, your Results section can't just be your tables and graphs. You must include at least a paragraph summarizing the results of your experiment. For help in formatting this section, see this site for some tips on writing your Results section (https://labwrite.ncsu.edu/po/po-results-2.htm) . In your Discussion section, explain what your results mean. What were the ideal conditions for sucrase? Make sure to refer back to the specific table or figure that supports your conclusion. Did your results match your predictions? Do the results make sense, based on what you know about enzymes? Why or why not? You can use the discussion questions from the PowerPhys assignment to give you some ideas on what to write about, but do not https://usfca.instructure.com/courses/1594487/assignments/6962422 1/4 2020/9/26 Results and Discussion sections include questions and answers like a homework assignment, your Discussion must be in paragraph form. For more tips on writing a Discussion section, click here (https://labwrite.ncsu.edu/po/po-discuss-2.htm) . Note that you are NOT submitting two separate documents--you are submitting ONE document that contains the Results and Discussion sections. More information on the expected format for lab report sections may be found in the Lab Report Guidelines file. Before making your table and graph: Read this reference (http://abacus.bates.edu/~ganderso/biology/resources/writing/HTWtablefigs.html) for more information on incorporating your table and figure into your Results and Discussion sections. NOTE: Each table and figure in your paper needs a number (Table 1, Figure 1, etc) numbered in the order they appear in your paper and a descriptive title. For tables, these features must be above the table. For figures, these features must be below the figure. You need to submit this assignment to Canvas by the beginning of Lab 5. Submissions after the deadline will be late, and late penalties will be as described in the lab syllabus. All figures and tables presented in the proper format with correct numbering; figures and tables are clearly understandable; figures contain appropriate axes, labels, and legends. Discussion thoroughly covers the results of the experiment and states whether hypothesis is accepted or rejected; results are discussed in a wider context and the relevance of the results is 5.0explained pts 3.0 pts Needs improvement 1.0 pts Insufficient Figures and tables are not referenced, insufficient text to highlight data. Important data points or trends are not highlighted OR figures and tables are not referenced in the text.
