Every time we sign up for a web service, confirm our age, or go through KYC verification, we end up revealing more about us than we want to. This means massive databases of private data—the most attractive target for leaks and exploitation.
Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) introduce a new model: demonstrating that something holds true (like being over 18, having enough cash, or having an account) without ever actually revealing the supporting data. This could transform digital identity, giving users privacy but still retaining trust.
There are huge questions, however:
Is ZKP a realistic replacement for existing ID check systems?
Will corporations and governments adopt them in large numbers?
Might stronger privacy also open the door to abuse or fraud?
What do you think—is ZKP the future of digital identity, or just another overhyped tech buzzword?
