Summary of Background and History

Luke Bryan, born originally as Thomas Luther Bryan on July 17, 1976, is a well-known country singer-songwriter who has made an astonishing career with the music industry today. Luke was raised to a family of five in 1976 in the town of Leesburg (Dukes, 2013).

The country music career that Luke Bryan has been successfully in pursuit of began in the middle 2000’s. Luke initially began as a Song writer after which he was then signed by Capitol records. In his rise to fame, he produced several albums and most significant among his musical success was the 2007 album release of “I’ll Stay Me” whose greatest composition was various songs. So far, Luke Bryan has produced four albums which have been at the center of the charts in since his musical career began (Whitburn, 2008).

The victory that Luke has achieved so far is remarkable, especially with the consideration that his father was not just a farmer but a pleasant farmer who mostly cropped peanuts, meaning that his rise to success would not come easy as the case has been. Luke’s father has been an inspiration to his career. He was always aware of the fact that he loved music, was really talented and knew he needed to encourage him to join the music industry (Dukes, 2013).

The song, Drink a beer by Luke Bryan holds one of his most important aspects of his life. Luke encountered some very serious losses in earlier years. The song’s greatest meaning is embedded on his brother’s loss of life due to a drunk driver. This was subsequently followed by the loss of his sister whose death was under unclear circumstances and has yet to be discovered. The song simply gives an account of the loss that he encountered in his early years of development and growth. The song bears the meaning of the loss that he encountered mainly because the loss occurred just before he could get into his career (Whitburn, 2008).

The song takes a very touching and emotional aspect in addressing the issue of the loss that he had already encountered before the onset of his musical career. The emotional aspect of the song subsequently makes the song touching and connectivity with the audience of the song. The song has the vocals of the singer and these vocals signify that indeed the song bears a great touch of originality. The musical touch in the song is effective and unique and in a class of its own (Dukes, 2013).

The song has had a great contribution to various developments in the music industry. The song has contributed to the music industry in that artistes have learnt and appreciated the art of developing music as a way of addressing various issues and aspects that are in and that either express their emotions or create events with certain emotions that are subsequently expressed through music (Whitburn, 2008).
