You will need to demonstrate that you can relate theoretical concepts associated with digital marketing themes and concepts to core topic areas affecting business innovation. The Assessment Task: Your task is to research and prepare a written report presenting the most pressing problems and opportunities facing organisations within the digital landscape of business. You are to select one digital marketing issue from a list (below) plaguing organisations and research into this issue within an industry of choice. In your research piece, you must provide review of literature surrounding the digital marketing issue and research conducted within your selected topic, followed by the infliction of this key issue on your industry, and provide relevant examples of businesses affected. Ensure you argue potential opportunities that will lead to your recommendations to tackle the selected issue. Students must provide a range of recommendations to tackle the digital marketing issue. Each student is required to undertake their own external research utilising online reports, library resources and databases. Word limit: The word limit for the Research Report is 2000 words (+ / - 150 words). Topic Selection: Students must select one of the following digital marketing topical areas to research into: 1. Less Focus on Keywords (SEO) 2. Increased Ad Costs 3. Clicks but NO Conversions 4. Mobile Technologies 5. More Ad Blockers 6. Social Media isn’t Flourishing 7. Disruptive Technologies Report Inclusions: When producing your report you should ensure it includes the following: 1. Introduction to selected topic; 2. Define the research problem and background of the problem; 3. Conduction of literature review on topic (evolution of published material on topic) 4. Key issues affecting industry of choice; 5. Recommendations for improvement; 6. Discussion / application and evaluation of supporting theory / theories to recommendations. Students should include at least 6 references (4 academic sources + 2 other credible sources). Assessment Criteria: A copy of the assessment grading rubric that will be used to grade your Research Report is provided in a link below. Format: This is a report format, please consider the following requirements: All reports must be typed in Times New Roman or Calibri font size 12; A minimum of one and a half spacing must also be used; Must use comprehensive in-text referencing; A cover page and table of contents is required; Assignment is to be presented in report style, with a title, subheadings, and page numbers; An executive summary is necessary and you must have an introduction and conclusion; Any detection of plagiarism will lead to an immediate fail grade in the task, and possible exclusion from the subject. Each report will be assessed individually on the percentage of similarity as it is not possible to stipulate an ‘acceptable’ percentage, it depends on the nature of similarity detected; Reports are to be submitted online via Turnitin LMS; References to ‘Wikipedia’ or to similar unsubstantiated sources will NOT be accepted.
