Question Description
*For all structures please show structural formula and NOT line formula (like the picture in the link)
1)Suppose you used citroyl chloride instead of adipoyl chloride. Draw enough of the polymer formula to show how the monomers would react with one another.
2)Another type of Nylon, Nylon 6, is made from caprolactam. In the reaction, the ring opens between the -c=o and the -NH groups to give the monomer that polymerizes to the polyamide Nylon 6. Write the structure showin 3 units of Nylon 6. http://www.chemguide.co.uk/organicprops/amides/caprolactam.gif
3) Why did Nylon 6-6 polymer form only at the interface of the two liquid phase? (2 liquids used: 1,6-diaminohexane and sebacoyl chloride)
