Social media has had a significant impact on contemporary culture. Now a days, social media has become a platform people can use to share photos or videos but like anything else, there are pros and cons to it. It can be used as a creative tool to share ideas and connect with other people around the world. There have been celebrities that have been discovered on social media, whether it’s Instagram or YouTube, and then launched their career either as a model, singer, or actress by gaining a following. It affects the trends we follow when it comes to fashion and travel.
I think the main value of human creative expression is the way it has allowed for us to interact with one another. We are able to keep in contact with friends and family or reconnect with people we haven’t seen in a while. We feel a part of other’s lives because we share moments such as weddings or birthdays. It has given us a sense of inclusivity with people we know or even with people we've never met.

I believe technology itself has played a huge part in how we perceive creative expression. The average household has television, the internet, smartphones, and cable. We hardly ever interact with our neighbors or even our own families. Social media plays a huge part in our daily lives. We search the internet to find like-minded individuals to bond with, we join social media groups to have a platform to speak on and agree with others. People often have a complete lack of empathy for others, due to the fact that everyone is a user name and not an actual person.
There are some wonderful things about technology. It allows us to stay in contact with family and friends we might not be able to see all that much. The internet allows us to research and learn about things we might not otherwise have access to. Technology has provided us the tools to be able to go anywhere. I can visit the Louvre at 3 a.m. on a Sunday, or visit the Met at 6:30 on a Friday. You can enjoy a lot of things you didn't think possible with technology.
